The moment you combine diamonds and skulls, the mind almost inevitably arrives at Damien Hirst. Rather than revisit that familiar territory, I spent considerable time searching for a different approach.

The answer came through the diamond itself.

At first glance, the work appears to be a flawless cut diamond. A second look reveals that the facets form the reflection of a skull. But the longer you spend with it, the more the reflections begin to disclose fragments of Bond's world. Hidden within the facets are the unmistakable silhouette of Bond's iconic Walther PPK, the curve of a scorpion's tail, the watchful presence of Blofeld's white cat, and, if you look closely enough, a martini glass - shaken, not stirred.

Like the Bond films themselves, the artwork rewards repeat viewing. Every reflection offers another clue, another reference, another secret waiting to be uncovered. What first appears to be a simple diamond gradually reveals itself as a portrait of one of cinema's most enduring icons.
